About Us

Founded in 2007, the Windland Flats™ home farm provides home-raised, grassfed Highland beef for its residents, the Krenz Family, as well as our customers in the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota community.  We are proud to have served up quality beef from our farm for almost 20 years.

Farming is a family business.  Our entire family is involved when it comes to the care of our many animals.  While some of us can throw hay bales higher than others, everyone pulls their weight.  We were humbled, and honored to receive the 2024 Sherburne County Farm Family of the Year Award.

Grassfed doesn't make you a conservationist.  Loving the land, doing what is right for the next generation and taking care of livestock in the most sustainable ways we know how, does.  We were blessed to be recognized by Sherburne County as the 2025 Outstanding Conservationist of the year in 2025.

We take great pride in providing quality beef and farm products for our community.  We also love being involved and giving back.  this year we helped raise over $21,000 for Discovery Academy school in Princeton, donated to FFA, 4-H, Scouts Derby and several other activities.  

We care about how we raise our food, which is the same as how we raise your food, too.  Teaching our children the work ethic, connection to animals and the importance of taking care of our one Earth run deep in our roots.

Our passion for helping others extends past the boundaries of Princeton, Minn.  We currently volunteer or serve for the Sherburne Soil & Water Conservation, American Highland Cattle Association, North Central Highland Cattle Association, Discovery Academy School Board, Silver Lakers 4-H, Mille Lacs County 4-H and others.
